Accuracy and interpretation

ODYSS uses a multi-model AI system. Computer vision extracts food and scene information, multimodal models combine visual and motion signals to understand eating events, and language models structure results and generate dietary insights.

The high-level flow is eating detection → event segmentation → food recognition → portion estimation → nutrition estimation → personalized insights.

Lighting, camera obstruction, and device orientation can affect meal records. If information is missing or incorrect, use text or voice input in the ODYSS App to correct it. The system updates the record and regenerates the report.

Privacy Mode and image processing

The physical button gives you direct control over sensing. You can use it to stop the camera and related sensors. N1 never records continuous video. In Normal Mode, it captures occasional still images for meal detection, with the status LED indicating when sensing is active.

Images are encrypted on the device before transmission. Faces, bodies, and other identifying biometric information are detected and removed before food analysis, so only food-related information is processed.

Raw images are used only for this analysis and are automatically deleted immediately afterward. They never appear in the app and cannot be viewed, retrieved, or accessed by users, Odyss staff, or third parties.

Data retention, deletion, and your rights

• Raw food images are deleted after AI processing. Account, nutrition, and health data are generally retained while your account is active and deleted 30 days after the account is closed, subject to legal exceptions.
• ODYSS does not sell, rent, or trade your personal dietary or health data, or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not use your data to train AI models without your consent.
• You may request access to, correction of, machine-readable export of, or deletion of your data, and may withdraw consent. Raw images are not included in standard data exports.

General-wellness boundaries

ODYSS accounts and services are intended for adults aged 18 and over and are not designed for children. Pregnant adults, older adults, people with chronic conditions, and adults with specialized nutritional needs should use ODYSS only as a general-wellness reference and seek professional guidance.

ODYSS cannot verify that food is allergen-free and should not be used as an allergen detector or emergency warning system. If you have allergies, verify ingredients and confirm allergen information with the food provider.
